About Us
We are AHOY, ‘a call’ to action to engage, develop, and empower young Africans to build the Africa we want in the social, economic, and political spheres of life. We work within institutional and legal frameworks of the continent and the countries we are present in, guided by our core principles of active advocacy; holistic development; optimistic outlook; and youth-inspired projects to deliver the human capital for Africa’s transformation.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be an organisation of high public value to young Africans, governments, and relevant stakeholders, in youth engagement, development, and empowerment for the transformation of Africa.

We exist to address youth needs by developing sustainable initiatives that invest in young Africans to be assets in the social, economic, and political development of the continent. We exist to advance and harness opportunities for the youth.
Programmes and Projects
Formal Education & Civic Programmes
We have a strong commitment to achieving the targets of sustainable development goal four (4). – ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. To this end, we are committed to implementing programmes that have bearing on active learning and learning strategies, removing barriers to assessing education and leadership for both boys and girls.
Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Innovation
We believe that the transformation of the continent is dependent on youth entrepreneurship and how their businesses can innovate to record net new growth. Mindful of the fact that many youth-led businesses in Africa are small-scale and subsistent in nature, AHOY provides them with data and insights that enables them to make empirically sound decisions.
Knowledge acquisition and sharing is important for these businesses.
Employment
Youth
The future of jobs informed by recent global shocks and exigencies requires young people to reskill and upskill to remain relevant. We are keenly interested in connecting skilled youth to employment opportunities through our job center and training young people to acquire industry-demanded and emerging job skills.

Gender & Social Protection
We believe that marginalized groups of young people – including young women – can be empowered to reach their best potential if they have equitable access to opportunities.
At AHOY, we leave no youth behind. We acknowledge differences in abilities and strongly advocate for structures and measures that promote accessibility. They are inclusive and accessible to all youth.
