Isaac Gwumah, Executive Director
Isaac Gwumah is a commercial research expert whose postgraduate work expertise spans a broad spectrum of private sector development and socio-economic research assignments. A significant number of these assignments have targeted marginalized groups such as women and the youth. Isaac is currently the External Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Consultant for the DANIDA-funded Rural Development Fund (RDF), which targeted lending facilities to MSMEs in rural Ghana, with focus on businesses run by marginalized groups.
He was a lead researcher for an impact study carried out by T-Tel Ghana (a four-year Government of Ghana Education Sector Programme supported by the UK’s Department for International Development focused on curriculum development in schools). He had previously carried out anthropological work in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector for Water.org and the Royal Netherlands Embassy; helping them to determine effective financing models for MSMEs – including youth-led and women-led businesses – within the sector and to review their route-to-market strategies.
Isaac currently works with local incubators like SNV (https://snv.org/country/ghana) and MEST (https://mestafrica.medium.com/) to deliver value-driven, innovative, market research services to early- and growth-stage SMEs in Ghana, some of which are led by young entrepreneurs.
Isaac chairs a Programmes Advisory Committee for the Marketing Department of Accra Technical University and currently works with other universities in developing appropriate curriculum and initiatives that will help young graduates from specific disciplines transition effectively from school to the world of work.
Isaac holds a Master of Arts degree in Applied Social Research from the University of Manchester (UK) and is a member of many professional associations and institutes in Ghana, including the Institute of Directors (Ghana).
